Alfredo Camacho-Gonzalez is a lifelong resident of Pomona and graduate of the Pomona Unified School District. In high school, Mr. Camacho-Gonzalez served as the student representative to the Board of Education and as ASB President of Ganesha High School. He has always had a desire to serve his community, while in high school he advocated for young people at the local level while serving as a Pomona Youth Commissioner and in college he represented his region at the state level as the Advocacy and Policy Senator for Region VIII. After graduating from college, he worked at a low-income housing development company’s public affairs office, while doing freelance journalism, public relations, marketing and graphic design on his free time. Aside from the PUPIL Foundation, Mr. Camacho-Gonzalez works for Day One, a public health agency that works on policy and youth engagement. He leads policy development in Pomona in the areas of nutrition, physical activity promotion and obesity prevention. He is also a member of Healthy in Pomona and serves on the Community Life Commission. He enjoys hiking, bike riding, discussing politics, coconut latte’s and hiking with October, his Yorkie. Mr. Camacho-Gonzalez graduated from Loyola Marymount University with his Bachelor’s in Political Science with an emphasis in Pre-Law and a minor in Communications. He plans on obtaining his Master in Public Policy in the next few years.
